being able to know by heart every line (like being about to sing the vocal arrangement/bass/drums and know exactly where in the song a pause happens or that one-shot hits) is so important in building musical vocabulary
when I get stuck on the technicalities of how to express a certain idea, I often come back to what a teacher once said: “the answers are in the records” (and sometimes, the answers are in the records your past self made. don’t underestimate her!!)
do not fear the unknown! keep going.
